Title: Liturgical Music Director

Key responsibilities at The Saint Paul Seminary

Administrative appointment with faculty status.  Duties include: formation and training of ordained and lay ministers through music and liturgy, oversee planning and implementation of music for all seminary worship, direct choirs, coach cantors and instrumentalists, teach in MDiv liturgy course sequence, academic and formation advising.

Additional teaching at University of St. Thomas

Adjunct instructor in organ performance and church music.

Biographical Information

 

David P. Jenkins is director of liturgical music at The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity, University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.  His duties there include teaching church music and directing the worship music of the seminary.  In addition Dr. Jenkins is an adjunct lecturer and organ instructor for the music department of St. Thomas.  He holds degrees in organ performance from The Eastman School of Music, the University of Iowa, and Oberlin Conservatory. During the 1980-1981 academic year he studied organ in Copenhagen at the Royal Danish Music Conservatory under a Marshall Fellowship.  Dr. Jenkins is active as a recitalist, freelance choral accompanist, and workshop leader.
