MAXIMAL OXYGEN CONSUMPTION TEST

This test can be performed on a motor-driven treadmill or an electrically-braked cycle ergometer. Serious cyclists may wish to bring their own pedals and shoes to simulate road cycling. You will be wearing a heart rate monitor and have a mouthpiece in your mouth from which expired air will be collected and analyzed by a machine. The test will begin at a very low level and will progress gradually each minute until you reach fatigue. Heart rate will be recorded each minute.

You will get:

  • Maximal Oxygen Consumption
  • Anaerobic Threshold
  • Anaerobic threshold as a percent of maximal oxygen consumption
  • Anaerobic threshold heart rate

  • 20-minute complete evaluation of results, including a comparison of your results to others your age and sex, as well as a comparison to other competitive athletes (if desired).
Cost: $60 ($80 if you would like an electrocardiogram (EKG))
